Matthew C. Jones

Matthew C. Jones is a Chicago workers’ compensation and personal injury attorney and partner at McHargue & Jones, LLC, a law firm dedicated to representing injured workers throughout Chicago and the greater Cook County area. Born and raised in Chicago, Matt continues to live and work in the city with his wife and two children.

Matt earned his undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago before attending Michigan State University College of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2006. During law school, he gained extensive litigation experience through clerkships and summer associate positions, including serving as a law clerk with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. He received the Jurisprudence Achievement Award in multiple subjects, including Torts, Contracts, Criminal Law, and Corporate Finance.

Since joining McHargue & Jones, LLC upon graduating from law school, Matt has devoted his career to protecting the rights of injured workers in Illinois. He became a partner in the firm in 2011 and has taken over 100 workers’ compensation cases to trial before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. Matt is known for aggressively handling disputed claims and holding insurance companies accountable for medical benefits, lost wages, and monetary compensation.

Matt is fluent in Spanish and regularly represents Spanish-speaking clients across Chicago. He is an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association and has served as Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Committee. He currently serves on the Legal Advisory Board of Arise Chicago, advocating for the rights of working families.
